Background:
In January 2008, Transitions Optical launched worldwide a new generation of photochromic lenses – Transitions® V Lenses with ESP™. The international launch included direct marketing, trade advertising, point-of-sale and sales promotion components, including a multimedia CD-ROM. Because the launch was planned in several countries around the globe and it was imperative that the adaptation of the materials was done on time. A delay could compromise the impact of the international launch.
Method:
Language Bridgers was chosen to adapt this initiative into Spanish. An international team, combined with technology for time efficiency was the key for our success.

  • A multidisciplinary team of bilingual professionals in various time zones worked around the clock (and holidays), enabling Language Bridgers to turnaround documents in as fast as 18 hours.

  • The team was lead by a project manager and included a programmer, graphic designer, two video experts, an editor, and a team of six translators.

  • Technology. We used CAT tools to extract terminology and track last minute changes made to the original documents. Fully developed glossaries were used, ensuring consistency throughout all documentation.

  • The project manager worked with the translation team and the client to enable a smooth transition of files, terminology consistency and style compliance.

Results:
The project was successfully completed 10 days before the established deadline and the client was extremely pleased with the end result. We are currently working on the Portuguese adaptation of this initiative.
